Les Gilroy (Senior Consultant)

L es has some 19 years of policing practice with the New South Wales Police Force and other Premier Law Enforcement Agencies which stretch across all facets of policing. Les has an extensive background in operational policing incorporating Covert and Undercover Operations, Task Forces, Adult Diversionary Conference Convener, Education and Training, Operational Safety & Tactics, General Duties, Beat Policing and Bicycle Unit.

His knowledge base extents and incorporates Investigation Teams, Anti Theft Unit, Field Training Officer, Custody Management, and the State Protection Support Unit holding the roles of Tactical Team Instructor and Team Leader. Les is currently a subject matter expert for a Premier Law Enforcement Agency in the fields of First Response, Weapons Training, Use of Force and Defensive Techniques and is Advanced Warrant Team Instructor.

Les is currently attached to Learning and Development, International Deployment, Community Policing, and Operational Safety Instructional Team. Les has the ability to communicate in a way that extracts the optimum result from the participants in his courses and leads by example. During Les's policing career he has received and exceptional amount of State, Regional and Local Area Command awards for excellence in policing regarding investigations and service the community.

Les has strong ties with Rotary, The Australian Bravery Association and sporting organisations. Les he has the honor of being one of the highest decorated officers in the New South Wales Police Force with commendations such as, The Commissioners Medal of Valour, The Royal Humane Society Bronze Medal for Bravery, The Commissioners Medal for Bravery and the Queens Commendation for Brave Conduct allowing him to be inducted into the Australian Bravery Association.

Les is now excited and proud to bring his experience into the public sector of education as a Senior Consultant with Diverse Training Concepts, through this Registered Training Organisation.
